Our projects produced research and developed strategies and tools to meet the needs of the child care workforce and achieve related goals. Click on the titles of our projects for more information.

People with disabilities are often under-employed – but they just might have the skills and competencies you require within your organization. It is important to consider how your organization can tap this potential source of employees.

 

Applicants for Level One Classification provide proof of completion of course work inclusive of three post-secondary courses in the following subject areas:

Child Development

Collège Acadie Î-P-É, Wellington
ECE Program:
Early Childhood Education Diploma – 2 years
Prerequisite: High School Diploma

Holland College, Charlottetown
ECE Program:
Early Childhood Care and Education Diploma – 2 years
Prerequisite: High School Diploma

The ECEC sector is currently facing turnover and workforce retention issues.

Occupational health and safety legislation regulates the standards of workplace health and safety with the aim to prevent workplace accidents, injuries and diseases, and outlines consequences for breaches of those standards. It details responsibilities of employers, supervisors and employees.

When an employee leaves your organization, an exit interview is a helpful tool to:
  • Identify what your organization is doing well
  • Pinpoint areas where you can improve in your organization
  • Confirm the skill sets, experience and attributes needed for the job
