Our projects produced research and developed strategies and tools to meet the needs of the child care workforce and achieve related goals. Click on the titles of our projects for more information.

The workforce reflects the diversity of Canadian society:
  • ECEs and assistants who are immigrants: 20%
  • ECEs and assistants who are visible minorities: 12%

Sylvie Melsbach, Pedagogical Director
les Mousses du Mont inc., a centre de la petite enfance (CPE) 
St-Bruno, Québec.

In 1975, Sylvie Melsbach was unhappy at her job as a pattern designer. Then she learned about an opening at a child care centre and applied. Thirty years later, she’s still with les Mousses du Mont.

ECE Program:
Early Learning and Care Diploma – 2 years (Full- or part-time)
Prerequisite: High School Diploma
